Heat Recovery and Pre-Heat Stores

 

30% or more of a Dairy farm's electricity bill is use to heat water.
 

• A heat recovery unit will use an existing heat source to pre- heat water for a water heater.
• Savings of 30% - 60% can be made.
• Cash savings of between £10 - £20 per gallon per year can be made depending on systems and circumstances.
• Heat sources most commonly used are bulk milk tank refrigeration units and solar heating panels
• Hot gas from the refrigeration units on the bulk tank is pumped through the stainless steel coils in the heat exchanger to pre-heating the water.

Heat recovery units can be supplied with a heating element to heat the pre-heated water to the required temperature
